Festive Gin, Pomegranate and Champagne Cocktail

Pomegranate, Gin, and Champagne Cocktail Recipe

What are the holidays without a theme drink? And this bright, tangy one is so good!

It’s a variation of one of my all-time favorite cocktails, this gin and grapefruit cocktail made with elderflower liqueur and prosecco simple syrup. But this version is made with gin, pomegranate and citrus juice, and a champagne simple syrup.

It’s not too sweet and so so yummy! And it’s super festive looking too.

Festive Gin, Pomegranate and Champagne Cocktail

Cocktail Ingredients:

So let’s get drinking. To make this pomegranate, gin, and champagne cocktail, all you need these simple ingredients.

Gin: I used a high-end gin with floral flavors in this cocktail. Brands I love include Grey Whale, Rock Rose, and You and Yours. Henrick’s would also work well.

Pomegranate Juice and Arils (the seeds): I used unsweetened pomegranate juice in this recipe — plus a few arils (seeds) for garnish.

Lemons and Lime Juice: I use a bit of both in this recipe to give the drink a bright, tangy taste.

Elderflower Liqueur: I love the fresh, floral taste of this liqueur made from elderflowers blossoms. I used St.Germain in this drink.

Dry Sparkling Wine: For this recipe, I infuse the simple syrup with champagne. You can use champagne, crémant, prosecco, or any other dry sparkling wine.

Also, here are a few tips for making and serving this pomegranate, gin, and champagne cocktail.

  • Don’t Love Gin? If you don’t love gin, you can sub in your favorite vodka.
  • Serving Glasses: You can serve your drink in a coupe glass or glass of your choice. My star coupe glasses are the Crate and Barrel Stardust Coupe glasses, which are currently out of stock. But you can try these.
  • Citrus Garnish: Garnish the glass with a twist of lemon or lime. Need help getting those perfect twists? Try a channel knife like this one.
  • Round Ice Cubes: I have my sweet husband to thank for these gorgeous clear sphere ice cubes. He makes them using this tray.

Description

This festive pomegranate gin and champagne cocktail, made with citrus juice and elderflower liquor, is perfect for your next celebration!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 ounces gin
  • 3/4 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounces champagne simple syrup (see notes)
  • 1/4 ounce elderflower liqueur
  • Garnish lemon twist, pomegranate arils (seeds)

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Seal and shake hard for 20 seconds.
  3. Pour into an ice-filled coupe glass or glass of your choice and garnish with a lemon twist.

Notes

To Make the Champagne Simple Syrup:  Take equal parts champagne and sugar (I used 1 cup champagne and 1 cup sugar) and add to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until all the sugar is dissolved and the liquid has started to thicken, about 3-5 minutes. The syrup can be refrigerated in a glass jar for up to 1 month. If you need to store it longer, it can also be frozen.
