Best Pumpkin Martini with Salted Graham Cracker Rim

This pumpkin martini cocktail is perfectly on theme for the season with its pumpkin and spice flavors. But it’s not too heavy or too pumpkin-y. The lemon and orange give it some tang, so it’s not overly sweet (it has just .5 ounces of sugar via an orange cordial). And the salted rim helps brighten and lift the flavors.

To make this drink, you’ll need:

  • VODKA: Use you favorite!
  • CANNED PUMPKIN PUREE: Just the plain pumpkin puree — not the spiced pumpkin pie puree.
  • LEMON JUICE
  • FRESH ORANGE JUICE: This is used to make the cordial, which is just simple syrup made with juice instead of water.
  • SUGAR
  • GROUND CINNAMON
  • PURE VANILLA EXTRACT

Cocktail Recipe Instructions:

This recipe has a few steps. But the work is easy! Here’s what you need to do.

  • THE PUMPKIN PUREE MIXTURE: Empty a can of pumpkin purée into a mixing bowl. Fill the empty can halfway with fresh lemon juice and halfway with water. Add to the pumpkin mix. Whisk in cinnamon and vanilla to combine. Set aside until ready to use.
  • THE ORANGE CORDIAL: Add the orange juice and sugar to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Simmer the mixture, stirring frequently, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • THE GRAHAM CRACKER SALTED RIM: Pulse crackers and salt in the food processor until super fine.
  • THE PUMPKIN MARTINI COCKTAIL: Add the vodka, pumpkin purée mixture, orange cordial, and pinch of salt to a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and then strain into a coupe-style class that’s been rimmed with the salted graham cracker mix.

A Few More Recipe Tips:

  • RECIPE SERVINGS: While this is for 1 cocktail, the recipe calls for making enough pumkin puree (2 cups) and orange cordial (2 cups) for several cocktails.
  • MAKE AHEAD: You can make both the pumpkin puree mixture and the orange cordial in advance. Both can be stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • RECIPE INSPO: This recipe is adapted from the cocktail served at Your & Yours Distillery in San Diego.
